ABOUT ME

I left full time academia in 2021 to pursue my love of coaching and mentoring, completing the PG Certificate in Coaching Psychology at Birkbeck in July 2022. I have always volunteered my time and in the past have been the Chair of Women’s Health (a charity empowering women through information about their health), and a school governor. I am currently volunteering as a coach for Yes Futures and work in the St Francis Hospice shop in Amersham near where I now live in Chesham Bois.

I am a Chartered Psychologist (Associate Fellow) of the British Psychological Society and a Member of the Association of Coaching. I am also a Fellow of Higher Education Academy and an Aurora Graduate.

PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

I was in Higher Education for over 20 years, with more than 6 years in senior management. As Head of School, I managed a multi-million-pound budget, and led project delivery to specification and on time e.g., Police Education Qualification Framework; directed successive successful revalidations from professional accreditation bodies (British Psychological Society, College of Policing etc.) nationally and internationally and co-led the first school Athena Swan Bronze Award at UEL.

Communication is a strength, known as an emotionally intelligent authentic leader who was also an effective networker moving relationships forward to action, I established partnerships and networks with many local community groups and local authorities to enable knowledge exchange e.g., East London NHS Trust, Brent Football Club Charity Trust, Act for Change, London borough of Hounslow. I had a staff team of over 70, successfully and proactively managing the “Talent pool” offering transparent opportunities for academic staff stretch and challenge.

In my transition to leadership many years ago I had the benefit of an excellent coach, who worked with me to support my confidence in managing people and developing strategy – what I learnt then has stuck with me. My aim in working with you is to use ALL these experiences and skills to enable the change you want.
